It’s getting much colder here on Lake Michigan. Yesterday, we were at 30 degrees, without windchill. I’m so excited for the holiday season, but I’m not sure how I feel about the below zero temps that will be here before I know it. However, I cannot wait to see this gorgeous view again!
How’s this for a flashback friday?? I found this photo from Halloween a good ten years ago. My sister is the vampire, and I’m that good-looking nerd on the left. This year, I was reminiscing about Halloweens past and how much I miss trick or treating. Seriously, who wouldn’t love dressing up and getting free candy? October 31st is one night with some of the best memories from my childhood. We would always TOT with our neighbors and spend the night eating chili, listening to the monster mash, and of course, bartering candy. (I hoarded three musketeers like they were going out of style.) My favorite memory, though, would have to be the year a random neighbor punched me in the face when she got scared at a haunted house, and I walked away with a huge fat lip. Battle wound for the win :)
Speaking of holidays, I am SO excited for the Christmas season. I’ve already been listening to some Christmas music, and probably within a week or two, I’ll make the transition to 24/7 holiday tunes. I’m addicted to Christmas. It’s my absolute favorite time of the year, hands down. Not to mention the fact that all four members of my family (plus the dog) have their birthdays in December! It’s such a crazy, whirlwind month, but I love it so. Now, it’s made even sweeter by the month break I get to go home and spend with my friends and family.
I’m trying to decide if I want to sponsor some blogs, and if so, who to sponsor. I sponsored for a month over at From Mrs. to Mama, and it was a really rewarding experience. I felt like paying money to expose my blog forced me to write more frequently, and post with more substance. Any ideas for awesome blogs to sponsor??
We’ve been talking about charter schools vs. private schools in my developmental psych class, and it’s been really interesting. As someone who’s attended private Catholic schools my whole life, it’s always fascinating to get a new perspective on how other people view education. We watched the movie, Waiting for Superman, and it was a real eye-opener. I definitely recommend it!
